VIC: Driveby suspect in shootout with police, officer critical

MELBOURNE, Feb 23 AAP - A 29-year-old Melbourne policeman is in a critical condition with a
chest wound after being shot by a man wanted over two driveby shootings.

The alleged shooter was wounded in the back, arm and leg, after police returned fire but
was not on the critical list.

The incident happened after a lone traffic operations group officer stopped a car in
