Dozens of top-shelf pistols are likely headed to the illegal gun market after they were stolen from a Central Avenue gun store.
The smash-and-run heist took place just before midnight Sunday at B & J Guns, in the rear of the former Builders Square mall just east of Route 155.
A witness in the parking lot watched the burglary unfold and tried to follow the two suspects when they took off in a small sport utility vehicle. The witness but lost the suspects near Western Avenue in Guilderland and returned to the store to call police.
