NSW: Lost canyoner found

A canyoner lost in the Blue Mountains for nearly two days has been found safe and well.

SCOTT CAMPBELL and three friends entered Claustral Canyon in Mount Tomah on Thursday morning.

He left the group at about midday to get help when one of the canyoners dislocated a knee.

His friends, who later made their way out, believe Mr CAMPBELL missed the exit point
of the canyon at Rainbow Ravine.

A police spokeswoman says passers-by made voice contact with Mr CAMPBELL about 1pm
(AEDT) today and a police helicopter airlifted him out of the bush about half an hour
later.

The spokeswoman says Mr CAMPBELL is uninjured.
