FED: Gov't to make third ETS attempt in February=10

With both the US and China announcing new climate targets, Senator Wong was asked whether
the government would consider upping its carbon reduction target to 15 per cent.

She replied the government would wait until a framework deal was outlined in Copenhagen.

"We will consider our position looking at the totality of what is on the table," she
said, adding the government would press for an ambitious agreement.

Last week, the US offered to cut greenhouse gases by 17 percent from 2005 levels by
2020, while China also vowed to slow its emissions from industry.
